This year has been a hectic run up to Christmas with a whole raft of activities along with some very successful fundraising for various charities - consistent with the term's value focus: compassion.
children looked amazing in their Christmas Jumpers! It really made our
Carols around the Tree look very festive
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Christmas Fayre this year, either through donating, helping or attending. It was a great success with £960 raised – our highest total to date!
The children were wonderful at our performance of Seven Lessons and Carols in the Church. It put us all in a festive mood! Thanks to all the kind donations, over £200 was raised for Ocean Ward, the paediatric cardiac ward at Southampton Hospital. This will be added to the money raised at the Christmas Tree Festival.
Whilst all the children sang with great gusto, the pupils in Class 4 introduced the celebration and learnt the lessons. Their recall was word-perfect. Class 3 contributed a musical accompaniment whilst Sails and Boats classes provided the tableau for the nativity.
What an amazing time was had by all when we travelled to Poole to watch ‘Aladdin’ (oh yes it was!) The performance was thoroughly enjoyable and it was wonderful to see all the children having such fun. A massive thank you to Santa (you know who we mean!) for paying for us to have such a brilliant experience!
Everyone enjoyed the fantastic festive lunch provided by Local Food Links - thanks to all the staff for serving and supervising the lunchtime.
Thank you to Mrs Woodford for organising the Christingle Service in the Church. Also a huge thank you to Mrs Woodford and her helpers for the wonderful party for the children after the Service. The collection raised £81.45 for the Children’s Society.
