Message from the Headteacher

I would like to extend a warm welcome to Burton Bradstock Church of England Primary School.  I hope that the prospectus will provide you with the information you need to become part of the school’s active community that prides itself on its caring ethos.  I invite and encourage you to participate in the various school functions, activities and events that take place throughout the year.

I have the privilege of leading a team of dedicated teaching and support staff who are committed to providing the best possible education for your child.  We seek to provide a happy and purposeful community, in which your child can learn, play and grow.

Our aim is not only to provide a high quality holistic education, but also to expose children to experiences that will give them the confidence, self esteem and resilience needed to carry them to life-long fulfilment and success.

Our last Ofsted Report in June 2015 states that, ‘The school promotes pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development exceptionally well through assemblies, visits and first-hand experiences. A well-devised curriculum, taking into consideration both local and global themes, engages pupils and motivates them to learn. Pupils have many opportunities to work collaboratively and learn new skills and knowledge…’

As a church school we base our outlook and attitudes on the central values of Christianity.  We believe that the principles of the Christian faith are a sound and reliable basis on which each child of ours can flourish both individually and together with others.  Many parents choose our school because of our caring, inclusive ethos where every child is valued as an individual and supported within an environment that has a ‘unique family feel’ (Ofsted 2015).  Relationships were seen as strengths in our SIAMS inspection (May 2017).

I believe that our school offers a range of wonderful opportunities for all our children.  We intend to see that they all receive every chance to learn and to enjoy their life at our school.  However, this aim can only be achieved through partnership with you.  The school has an open door policy so that, in addition to formal consultations to discuss progress and achievement, you are encouraged to contact us to discuss any issues.

We are proud of our school and look forward to welcoming you and your child.
