TEACHING ASSISTANT XS 10.4

20 hours per week (Monday – Thursday, 9am – 3pm).

Salary: Dorset Grade 5, term time only.

 

Burton Bradstock CE Primary School is a small primary situated in a coastal village that serves the local community.  We have strong links with the church and our school values of Respect, Friendship, Happiness, Peace and Love form our ethos. We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to work in KS1 or KS2.  The post is for 20 hours per week and term time only.

You will be:

calm, kind, patient and supportive

enthusiastic, imaginative and creative

an excellent communicator

skilled at building good relationships with children, parents and staff

friendly and have a professional manner

experienced in KS1/KS2 with a good understanding of the national curriculum

confident in supporting learning for groups and individual children

willing and able to follow instructions and guidance from the class teacher/SENCo

able to set clear guidelines and expectations, and use own initiative

motivated and determined to ensure learning for all children

keen to give to the life of the school

committed to the Christian and nurturing ethos of the school

The role will include:
supporting in class
supporting pupils to understand work
liaising with teacher to ensure that work is appropriate for the pupil
delivering specific programmes and interventions to address difficulties
promoting inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
setting high expectations
promoting self-esteem and independence
supporting the team in all aspects of preparation and delivery of classroom learning
You will be expected to cover the teacher for PPA during 1 afternoon a week.
